Good hiking!"With these dire-sounding words, hikers are welcomed, if you can call it that, to the Hundred Mile Wilderness, perhaps the most dreaded section of the Appalachian Trail in Maine. Though the sign writers tried to leaven their gloomy message with that chipper exclamation point, the effect can be enough to daunt even the staunchest outdoorsman.
