The Legend of the Gray Ghost
In the 1920s a Rangeley hat maker changed the history of angling forever.
In a tiny, cluttered room under the eaves on the second floor of her Readfield home, Selene Dumaine is creating a miniature work of art. Dumaine’s mother, Louise Frechette, is a noted pastel artist with a gallery in Kennebunk, but Dumaine has chosen a different medium of expression for herself. Her little upstairs studio is filled with thread, tinsel, floss, hooks, fur, and feathers. [For the rest of this story, see the April 2008 issue of Down East.]

Reader Comments:
The article "The Legend of the Gray Ghost" was very nice. Is it possible for a subscriber to learn how if possible)to be in touch with Selene A. Dumaine in Readfield. My son and I are both salmon and trout fishermen. We would be most interested to hear from Selene Dumaine, assuming that she sells some of her fly patterns, especially those modeled after Carrie Stevens.
Thank you.
