FRISBEE FOR EVERYONE
The quintessential intramural college sport has gone mainstream.
Want proof? Join up with Portland Ultimate, the ultimate Frisbee league that has grown from forty to six hundred people since Alex Pozzy started it in 1993. With games twice a week at the Wainwright Athletic Complex in South Portland or the Cumberland Fairgrounds, the thirty-two coed teams compete in eighteen regular season matches culminating in a championship tournament. No experience is necessary, and you just have to be fifteen to play. So whether you’re a championship player or a beginner, fifteen or fifty, you, too, can throw a Frisbee — and enjoy the ample social networking benefits — of this growing group.
