For their live shows, Portland's Seekonk haul a birdcage out on stage and one of the guitar players proceeds to play it with the bow of a cello. On their debut record, For Barbara Lee, Seekonk was all about these sorts of atmospherics. They've corrected things on their second record, Pinkwood, put out by North East Indie Records (www.northeastindie.com ), a tiny Portland-based label.
