For six years, the mass migration of Somali refugees to ewiston has captured the world's attention. But people in L-A no longer want to be part of an international news story. They just want to live their lives.

On the floor of Dingley Press in Lisbon, Mohamed Maalin feeds sections of catalogs into a collator, depositing stack after stack with practiced efficiency. Nearly five years into the job, he's perfected his technique. Maalin works alongside a woman who like him is dressed in boots and a uniform emblazoned with the company's insignia. Both wear earplugs against the din, although that doesn't preclude the occasional shared joke.
Maalin's easy countenance belies the facts of his life.
