Out of the Ocean: The Changing Face of York Fisheries
This new exhibit focuses on York’s continued history as a working waterfront community. Researched through interviews with fishermen and family members, the exhibit examines the fishing and lobstering industry in York today and back through the 20th century. Free. Belfast Garden Club’s Open Garden Days Series Highlights Special Gardens of Waldo County throughout the summer!

From backyard experimental plantings and ornate Master Gardens, cooperative gardens and vegetable plots visitors can expect to see brilliant blooms, unique and rare plants, sculpture, exquisite views and ponds.
One garden will be open to the public 10am-4pm, each Friday through August 23rd, plus the first Friday of September. Tickets can be purchased at each garden on the day of the tour for $4. Proceeds from the 2013 Open Garden Days will benefit the Club’s civic beautification projects.

The Casco Bay Woodsculptors are putting on an art show about climate change. Laurie and Michael Sproul, Carrie Camann, Chris Pye, Clara Cohan, Ben Tompson, and Linda Murray will have work which invites the viewer to explore and broaden their possition on climate change. Opening is Sept 6th, show runs the whole month.

A free self-guided tour of local art galleries, art studios, museums, and alternative art venues is all part of Bar Harbor's First Friday Art Walk Friday, September 6th 6 - 9p.m. The festive evening includes galleries that will host special events showcasing artists, demonstrations, exhibits and receptions for local, Maine and National artists and craftspeople along with special theatre, musical and art events throughout the downtown.
