Spend Memorial Day remembering the history of York. Join us for $1 tours of the Emerson-Wilcox House at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and the Elizabeth Perkins House at 1:30 p.m. Visit the Old Gaol anytime from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. call 207-363-4974.
4th Rally for Norlands: Civil War Reenactment

One of the largest Civil War Reenactments in Maine, this event features a variety of living history demonstrations, exhibits, and engaging activities remembering the activities of the Civil War in the Spring of 1863. It is organized by the 3rd Maine Company A and 15th Alabama Company G to benefit Maine’s oldest living history farm and museum.

As casualties from World War I in Europe began to multiply, a group of young Americans volunteered to drive ambulances at the front with the American Field Service (AFS). AFS was made up of college boys, young professionals, artists, and businessmen, including Wiscasset's Edward Carter Sortwell. William Foley, who has the largest AFS collection in the country, tells the story of this heroic organization and its local connection. Foley shares photos, letters, and objects, which are the foundation of "Before the Doughboys" at Smithsonian Institution in 2014.

First in our series of live concerts and cookouts on Hancock Wharf, Bliss plays great acoustic music combining creative covers with original tunes inspired by the life experiences of three women following their bliss. $5 per person for concert, food available for purchase.
