SONS OF NORWAY
Scandinavian climate, wildlife & conservation practices are similar to Maine’s. Come & learn about Scandinavian culture from folks in full native dress; & see demonstrations of traditional activities like carving, rosemaling, weaving & Viking life. Sample delicious Scandinavian foods like polser, in lompe, lefse & krumbkaka. Many ‘make & take’ activities for children & adults, like building Troll, or ‘nisse’ houses!

The Friends volunteer group helps out the wildlife park in so many ways; learn more about their
ongoing projects & enjoy great bargains on spring plants with annual & perennial flowers, vegetables &

Bob Gobeil an accomplished Maine Butterfly Survey Participant will be surveying Swan Island. Join him for a discussion on Maine Butterflies and the MBS - http://mbs.umf.maine.edu/. After his presentation spend time in the field identifying butterflies with Bob. Arrive at the Mainland ferry landing before 10am. Return time will be around 1pm. Reservations are a must! Come see Larry's live peregrine “on fist” and hear his presentation about Peregrine Falcons and American Kestrels. Larry will discuss life history, fun facts and the Kestrel Partnership - http://kestrel.peregrinefund.org/. Arrive before 430pm for the special ferry time or early and spend the day exploring.
