The Millay Sisters

Edna St. Vincent Millay--who preferred to be called Vincent--and her two equally creative sisters grew up across the bay, in Camden, ME. Edna went on to become one of Maine's best known writers, winning the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1923. Now Opera House Arts brings this remarkable Maine woman, and her two sisters, to intimate, dazzling life for you in a cabaret setting, filled with the music of the teens, 1920's, '30's, and 40's as sung by the actors.

BOOKS ‘N’ BLOOMS. The Winter Harbor Public Library on Chapel Lane in downtown Winter Harbor will host its second Books 'N' Blooms Garden Tour on July 6, 2013, rain or shine, between 11 am and 3 pm. Five of the unique and striking gardens on the scenic Schoodic Peninsula will be open for you to explore and enjoy. Dozens of pieces of art in a variety of mediums will be up for bid in this fund-raising auction. BARBARA ERNST PREY: EAST MEETS WEST

This exhibit showcases the virtuosic hand of internationally acclaimed artist Barbara Ernst Prey, recently featured on the CBS Evening News. On exhibit are 40 never before seen watercolors, dry-brush and oil paintings in which Prey continues her exploration of the Eastern and Western landscape and our complex relationship with the environment. The New York Times writes “Prey is going where icons like Rauschenberg and Warhol have gone before”.
