Chocolate Fest and Silent Auction is one of Midcoast Maine's premiere events! In its eleventh year, Chocolate Fest features food catered by the Damariscotta River Grill, chocolate delights made by local chefs and restaurants, music by Mickey Felder and a wonderful array of auction items to meet everyone's pocketbooks.

This evening features a wide selection of French romantic music and combines the Maine premiere of a little known masterpiece, the sublime Sonata for Violin and Piano by early twentieth-century composer Jacques de la Presle, with a fresh look at the well-known and universally beloved work, the great Sonata in A Major by Cesar Franck.

The Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra performs the winning compositions from the 2011-2012 USM School of Music’s Composition Competition. Conducted by USM School of Music faculty member Robert Lehmann, the SMSO will also undertake the Sibelius Symphony.

Penobscot Marine Museum hosts Nor'easter Days, a series of arts and crafts classes for adults, led by locally-known experts. Anne Spencer will teach watercolor technique using ship models and paintings from the museum's collection as examples.

Nor'easter Days is a series of arts and crafts classes for adults, led by locally-known experts. Held on the last Saturday of the month, January through April, the classes run 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
