Lighting of the Nubble
Starts: Nov 24 2012 - 5:00pm
Ends: Nov 24 2012 - 7:00pm
The Annual Lighting of the Nubble is always held the first Saturday after Thanksgiving, which will be Saturday, November 24, 2012. This is a fun family evening with a variety of entertainment. Dress warm for this one! We invite you to join us for this spectacular community event as we kick off the holiday season with the Annual Lighting of the Nubble on Saturday, November 24th, 2012. Festivities run from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and ‘lights on’ at 6:00 p.m. The event includes traditional Christmas Melodies provided by the York High School Chamber Singers, along with Kiddie Carols. There’s something for the whole family. The United Divers of New Hampshire may raise their lighted tree from the ocean. We’ll have the ever popular visit from Santa who arrives by way of a York Beach Fire Department ladder truck and we’ll count down, together, the seconds before the Lighthouse is lit and adorned in its holiday lights at 6:00 p.m. There’s plenty of hot chocolate and cookies for all, so we hope you’ll mark your calendar and plan to join us for this free community event. A COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE SERVICE IS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE. THE SHUTTLE WILL RUN FROM ELLIS PARK IN SHORT SANDS BEACH FROM 3:30 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.
The lights remain lit from the Thanksgiving weekend’s Lighting of the Nubble celebration through the holiday season until January 1st annually.
