Evening tours through the Eastern Cemetery with costumed actors portraying the interred when they were alive. Presented by Spirits Alive in conjunction with Acorn Productions and Portland Playback. Tours commence in groups of 10 to fifteen people and are led by shrouded specters. See and hear famous, but dead, Portlanders come to life and voice their strange tales against the eerie, dimly-lit, gravestone-filled background. Some of the ghosts that will speak could include Lydia Carver, the ghost bride of Portland; Alice Greely, tavern owner during the Great Fire; Samuel Proctor, son of John Proctor of the Salem Witch trials; and War of 1812 sea captains William Burrows and Samuel Blythe.
