The (Un)Making of a Digital King

Author Stephen King has been getting some new pixels (you know, the digital equivalent of ink) for his sponsorship of Kindle, Amazon.com’s answer to the printed, bound book of old.
The Monarch of Madness even wrote a digital-only novella in which the main character is empowered by a pink Kindle, a likeness of which was presented to King at the “book” launch of his new project. All of this hoopla is not King’s first foray into the digital world. StephenKing.com was updated January 20, 2009 with his Amazon news. Other key areas of King's official website were last updated in June 27, 2008 (his picks for books and music) and September 4, 2008 (the date of King's last online message to fans). That's the trouble with this new-fangled digital age: it’s easy to follow the, er, paper trail.
