More Votes, More Power

There's an old saying in town politics: If you don't vote, you don't get to complain. A new program unveiled by the Maine Secretary of State allows any registered voter in the state to request, fill out, and submit absentee ballots -- all from their home computer. So far 189 towns and cities have opted into the program, up from just fifty-two communities last year.
