Tiny Cherryfield, on the Narraguagus River east of Ellsworth, offers a lot of bang for its buck. Within just a couple of miles the town boasts more than eighty homes with historical or architectural significance, all thanks to the timber barons who settled there in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century. Just driving through town is like passing through a history lesson, but this Saturday afternoon you can do even better by taking part in a tour with the Cherryfield-Narraguagus Historical Society of eight of these impressive homes and buildings.
