Developer Sets Sights on Portland
At 16 stories, Maine’s tallest building may soon be overshadowed. Developer John Cacoulidis has filed plans to create a 30-story building in downtown Portland following purchase of the former printing plant and offices of the Portland Press Herald on Congress Street. Plans include a parking garage, offices, apartments and retail locations. Cacoulidis has made headlines for development ideas in the past. He was the man behind the plan to build two hotel towers with a cable car system escorting people across Portland Harbor.
