2009 Record Year for Lobster

According to the Bangor Daily News, the lobster landings in Maine in 2009 amounted to 75.6 million pounds, somewhere in the realm of 5.7 million pounds higher than in 2008. Previously the biggest year on record for lobster was 2006, in which 75.3 million pounds of lobster was brought ashore. Prices, however, were down form previous years.
