Whoopie Pie or Blueberry Pie?

Amos Orcutt, president of the University of Maine Foundation, is vying to have the whoopie pie adopted as Maine's official dessert. A bill that would do just that has been presented to the legislature by a group of high school students as part of the Maine Youth in Government program. But it is not all smooth sailing for the whoopie pie advocates. The blueberry pie supporters have come out strong on the other side, and with Maine's official fruit on their side, they might still win the battle.
