Warm Temps Hurt Small Ski Slopes
As of yesterday only 16 of Northern New England's 52 ski resorts were open. Two of those, Sugarloaf and Sunday River, are in Maine. Warm temperatures make it harder for the resorts to generate their own snow, and according to the Wall Street Journal, this has some owners worried. However, thanks to a cold snap in Maine this past weekend, Ski Maine says smaller ski areas are looking to open between now and Christmas weekend.
