Neely Recognized as 'Design Luminary'

Design New England Magazine has recognized Maine stained glass conservator, Robin Neely, as one of the top five design luminaries in New England.

Neely, known for her stained glass conservation work in New England museums, churches, and colleges, is featured in the article, 5 Luminaries: New England in the Design Limelight, in the magazine’s November/December 2011 issue. The article features parts of Neely’s work – from technical to historical – that after decades still continues to capture her attention, “I feel as though I become very intimate with not only the window, but with the artist, the building, and the time period. They’re right behind me, looking over my shoulder.”

The article also features MIT professor, Daniel Nocera, Artist Janet Echelman, Eric DeLong of Tremont Nail Company, and Dan Farrenkopf of Lunaform.

Neely's portfolio includes restoration of windows at Victoria Mansion in Portland and consulting work on a John LaFarge window at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
