Find That Phoenix!
The original phoenix was carved into the facade of one of Portland's banks after the Great Fire of 1866 and stayed there for 60 years. It then moved inside for another 70. Ten years ago the statue went missing after KeyBank moved it to its Monument Square branch. Or so the company thought. It turns out it was a replica and there are no current leads as to where the original remains. Andrew Graham, president of Creative Portland, is helping to track down this mythical bird.
