Maple Syrup Flows Early in Maine
Maine's syrup producers are responsible for the third most amount of syrup in the U.S. behind Vermont and New York. This year, however, they're getting started a bit early thanks to the mild winter. Many of the syrup farms around the state began tapping three weeks ago — significantly ahead of schedule. Whether this will impact the overall output is hard to tell, and will largely be dependent upon the weather going forward as the sap is being tapped. Read more at the Bangor Daily News.
