Wild Nova Scotia

From the craggy rocks of Cape Split to the peaceful lakes in Kejimkujik National Park, Nova Scotia’s wilderness is diverse and stunning. And fortunately for the nature lover, 33 of the province’s wildest places are designated Wilderness Areas, protected from harmful human activity but available to outdoor enthusiasts.

Wild Nova Scotia is a collection of photos from each of the designated Wilderness Areas in Nova Scotia and a select few of the province’s other wild places. Complemented by wildlife biologist Bob Bancroft’s text, Len Wagg’s images are of both accessible sites, like the magnificent falls at North River, and locations so remote you may never see them firsthand, like windswept Sable Island. The vivid, lush, and evocative photos give a true sense of the wilderness experience, reminding us how precious our wild places are -- and how imperative it is that we protect them.
