Some Pieces May Be Irregular

September 12, 2007

A selection of prose from the Sept. 12 issue of the Original Irregular, a weekly newspaper in Kingfield:

"The internationally acclaimed artist, writer and illustrator had left her mark on the school with her mural and years later a coat of varnish was applied to protect it, but which yellowed and in later grew `yellower' with each year's passing. Expertise on how to preserve and protect such an invaluable piece of art is not something you can find in the local yellow pages."

(Try the yellower pages, then.)

"Her masterful work took a little over four days. His equal, if not unparalleled mastery is a story to be told."

(In English?)

"'Thank you very much and congratulations,' Baldacci said, consistently appraising the groups effort."

(Maybe he wants to invest.)

"On Aug. 8, the concrete walls at the new Poland Spring Bottling Facility in Kingfield were completed and today the roof is getting closer to become secured. The landscape of the site is changing weekly as over 100 workers chip away each day at the construction project."

(Isn't that counterproductive?)
