Maine Economy Grows
The rate of production for Maine goods and services grew 1.4 percent in 2008, elevating Maine above Connecticut and Rhode Island for gross domestic product. The total value for all goods and services in Maine rose less than the gdp of New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts, however. Maine exported a record $3 billion in products last year, up 9.5 percent from 2007.
