Clone of Maine Beers on Way to President
Is this an example of the audacity of hope? When President Barack Obama visited Portland earlier this month, he cited Bill Milliken, an owner of the Maine Beer and Beverage Corporation, as an example of a small business owner whose employees will benefit from improved health care coverage as a result of the new health reform law.
"In exchange for this publicity, I hope that I'm going to get some samples of beer," Obama joked.
Is he ever. On Monday, Milliken gathered an assortment of Maine beers and other products into an enormous gift basket and sent it off to the President after a ceremony attended by Gov. John Baldacci and U.S. Representative Chellie Pingree.
