Hello David Wood,
I am part owner of the land where your photo was taken.
The little house is not an ice shack. It is a pump house that houses the deep well and pump for our house on Kezar Lake. The field was built by my dad, Howard Rogers, so that he could have a beautiful view of the stars with his telescopes.
It is a famous view, and we don't mind people taking photos or painting it. In fact Marsden Hartley painted Speckled Mount from some place close the the field.
