Head of Tide Preserve

This image shows the "head of tide" of the Passagassawakeag River in Belfast, the uppermost point where the river is tidal. And, as development director for Coastal Mountains Land Trust, I'm compelled to point out that the land on the right side of the river (as seen in the photo) is also a 92-acre preserve purchased by the Land Trust in 2009 as part of our Passagassawakeag Greenway. We are currently planning trails for full public enjoyment of this beautiful place, which is accessible from Doak Road (off Route 7/137) in Belfast. For more information or to make a donation to help us complete paying off financing for this special property, I encourage you to visit www.coastalmountains.org!
