The Art of Dahlov Ipcar
Dahlov Ipcar is best known for her vibrant collage-style paintings of jungle and farm animals. This clearly evident love of animals is due in part to the summers she spent with her family in Maine. Ipcar’s talents have earned her wide recognition. Her works are included in the permanent collections of many museums, including the Metropolitan Museum, Brooklyn Museum, and the Whitney Museum in New York. Her numerous solo shows include a one-woman show at the Museum of Modern Art in 1939, when she was 21. This book represents the first retrospective publication of her work, created over a span of 70 years. At the age of 91, Dahlov still paints every day at her home in Georgetown, Maine.
"Open the book on a dreary day and you will let light into you life as the chromatic fantasies of Ipcar's fabulous animal paintings dance before you eyes." —Edgar Allen Beem, Yankee.com blogger.Buy The Art of Dahlov Ipcar Now
