Eric Hopkins - Man in Motion

Eric Hopkins is an upbeat artist. There is no avoiding it: coming across one of his landscapes reproduced on a bag of Coast of Maine Organics mulch, on the cover of a Maine Coast Heritage Trust annual report, or painted on a paddle donated to an Abbe Museum benefit auction, one feels a sense of joy and gratitude - and even comfort - at this artist's vision of a special part of the planet.

Clementine - Ultra-Fine Dining in Brunswick

"The Brunswick scene has been emerging for the last few years," says chef Dana Robicheaw, who, with his wife, Nancy, opened Clementine in 2008 after simultaneous stints at Henry and Marty, one of the first Brunswick eateries to emphasize foods from local farms and cheese makers. "We realized that if we didn't put our mark here soon, someone else would."

Fall into Books

Join us for Fall into Books, a children's book celebration at the Portland Public Library, October 22 from 11AM to 2PM. Many children's book authors and illustrators will be there, including Cathryn Falwell, author and illustrator of Pond Babies, Karel Hayes, author and illustrator of The Summer Visitors, and Lynne Plourde, author of Only Cows Allowed.
