Say “I do” in Maine
We asked our Facebook fans for the best spots to get married in Maine. Here’s what you said:
"We were married one year ago at the Inn at Ocean’s Edge on Lincolnville Beach. We had an intimate ceremony overlooking the water and a lobster dinner on its private restaurant deck. Afterwards, the party moved inside to the inn’s ‘honor bar.’ The guests stayed at the inn, which is gorgeous — and the food was divine.”
Nicole Irwin, Presque Isle, Maine
“In a beautiful barn. On a schooner. Anywhere in Maine.”
Kristen Bailey, South Freeport, Maine
“Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth. The whole wedding party stayed at the Danforth, and the reception was at the Portland Club with the Black Tie Company — the rehearsal dinner was at the Woodlands in Falmouth. It was amazing from start to finish.”
Ashleigh Sullivan, Kittery, Maine
“In the gazebo at Cascade Park in Bangor. It’s not huge, but it’s lovely.”
Holly Williams, Levant, Maine
"Kawanhee Inn in Weld. I was there for a fall getaway and thought, ‘What a perfect place for a wedding.’ ”
Joan Fetsko, Bremen, Maine
“Acadia National Park. You can take a horse-drawn carriage to the top of Day Mountain and get married at sunset. Beautiful. I wish I had. . . .”
Stephanie VerWey, Freeport, Maine
