Huricane Sandy's far reaching coastal swells

Although downeast Maine missed the brunt of Sandy, we did receive spectacular surf conditions as a result.
The Gulf of Maine that day, while seemingly calm, released its hidden forces with powerful tidal surges.
Although I was caught off guard several times with incoming breakers, my spirits were not dampened and I was rewarded with many dynamic images.
