MUSIC
COLVIN IN CAMDEN
The sun might not come out in Maine this November, but things will definitely brighten when South Dakota native Shawn Colvin sings “Sunny Came Home.” Colvin’s ambient folk music reflects her wanderlust and Joni Mitchell-like musings on love, life, and loss. Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. $38. Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St. 207-236-2281. www.camdenoperahouse.com

ART
PRETTY IN PRINT
What do zinc, stone, wood, copper, and linoleum have in common? They can all be used in the ancient art of printmaking, which is on display in its contemporary version at First Impressions: New Works by Peregrine Press Artists, an exhibit at the Dyer Library/Saco Museum. You’ll learn about the history of printmaking and see some of the latest artwork by some of Maine’s premier printmakers. Through Nov. 16. $2-$4, with free admission on Thursdays from 4 to 8 p.m. 371 Main St. 207-283-3861. www.dyerlibrarysacomuseum.org

EVENT
BREWING UP A STORM
Throw back one, or two, or more (if you’re not driving) at the Maine Brewers’ Festival in Portland. It’s a perfect way to welcome the winter — er, we mean late fall — and the best way to enjoy all that the state has to offer when it comes to growlers. Must be twenty-one and have a valid I.D. to attend. Nov 1. $30-$110. Portland Expo, 239 Park Ave. www.mainebrew.com
