What is our relationship to place? How do our contemporary views affect how we see the land? What is a landscape? In this intensive class, students will use various drawing media plus collage to think about these questions. Topics include: pattern and texture; repetition and rhythm; fragmentation; scale and point of view. Artist Andrea Sulzer received an MFA from the Glasgow School of Art and teaches drawing at the University of Maine at Augusta and has worked as a mentor in Maine College of Art’s MFA program. She is represented by ICON Contemporary Art in Brunswick, and has shown at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art and The Drawing Center in New York. Level: beginner to advanced Class size: limited to twelve students.
