Studio 227: Photography for Non-Photographers, Photo 101

So you know you like photography but you don't really know much about it and would like to? Perfect. For the next session of emilie inc., photography's studio workshop series, emilie inc. owner and former newspaper photographer and photo editor Emilie Sommer will walk you through the basics to set you on the right path for further exploration with your DSLR. Topics covered will include: history of photography; principles of good photography (moments, composition, lighting); shooting for visual variety; exercise in how to operate your camera; exercise in still life; exercise in portraiture. If you do not have a DSLR camera, we can arrange to rent one for you for the day for an additional cost, or you are welcome to bring your point and shoot with the knowledge that some of the discussion will be specific to DSLR.
