The latest head of the Small Business Administration can lay claim to working with small entrepreneurs to corporate giants. Better still for entrepreneurs, Karen Mills knows the value of SBA funding. The senate panel gave Mills' nomination unanimous approval. The Brunswick resident is a venture capitalist who has served on almost a dozen economic-related nonprofit organizations in Maine and who has also served on the board of Scotts Miracle Gro. The wife of Bowdoin College president Barry Mills has pledged to get capital in the hands of small business owners seeking loans through the SBA as soon as possible.
