Ken Burns has been bringing great drama to our attention for more than twenty-five years. Now he’s doing it again, this time with his new documentary "The National Parks," a twelve-hour, six-part series that takes a panoramic view of America’s spectacular natural places and the diverse people who dedicated their lives and fortunes to preserving such scenic beauty. The ever-acute Burns has included Acadia National Park in his selection (and who can blame him?). If you’d like a sneak peek before the series is aired on MPBN (it's scheduled for late September), head to the Criterion Theatre and Arts Center in Bar Harbor on Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. where Mr. Burns will host a Q&A and show excerpts from his film.
