The Maine House of Representatives endorsed a bill that would require fast food restaurants to publish the calorie counts of menu items. "An Act to Increase Access to Nutrition Information," sponsored by Speaker Hannah Pingree of North Haven, passed 88 to 56 this week and now heads to the Senate. If approved, Maine would join the cities of Seattle, New York and Philadelphia, which require calorie counts on fast food menu items.
