Sinkholes seem to be swallowing Maine, one piece at a time.
First, a sinkhole opened up on Biddeford's Main Street . That was blamed on a water main leak.
Then a cherry picker disappeared into a hole that opened up in Bangor's Norumbega Parkway . It was caused by a "machinery mishap."
Now a small sinkhole has opened at the intersection of West Hill Road and Cobbossee Avenue in Gardiner. It's blamed on a road washout.
All we can say is, watch your step.
