Due to budget cuts elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged LIHEAP recipients could find themselves left in the cold this winter. In response, author Stephen King used the Bangor area radios stations he owns to issue a challenge to raise $76,000 to assist those affected by the cuts. Individuals donated a total of $24,000 while the Lerner Foundation contributed $46,000 to complete the matching pledge. Read more at the Bangor Daily News .
