Insurance Superintendent Mila Kofman has resigned citing philosophical differences with Gov. Paul LePage.
The Bangor Daily News describes Kofman as Kofman "a feisty, consumer-oriented regulator with a background in health policy, consumer advocacy and academics."
In her letter of resignation to LePage, Kofman said she and the governor share similar goals, including that of “ensuring that all of Maine’s businesses and people have access to more affordable health coverage options.” But, she said, “we have different approaches of how to get there.”
