Celebrate the hundredth birthday of the Opera House with a new show inspired by the vaudeville acts that toured the coast.

A group of British retirees decide to "outsource" their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India.

 In conjunction with Stonington's First Night Art Walk, Rushing has been featured in more than fifty solo and group shows all over the US, including Seattle and Boston. He holds an MFA in painting from the University of New Hampshire and has been the recipient of several fellowships, most recently a teaching fellowship in Ascoli Piceno, Italy.

The annual two-day Downeast Spiritual Life Conference included Franciscan priest and author Fr. Richard Rohr, historian of Christianity Phyllis Tickle, and mystical activist Andrew Harvey.

The  Community Learning Center’s increasingly popular monthly pizza and music night features the Orange River Jazz Band with special guest Mark Tipton.

The Cobscook Community Learning Center presents Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Ford. There will be a reception with the author at 6 p.m. followed by a lecture and reading at 7:30. Richard Ford is the first author to receive both the Pulitzer Prize and the PEN/Faulkner Award for his novel Independence Day. Ford lives in Boothbay, with his wife, Kristina Ford.

Help us celebrate International Mud Day! Activities will include “car” mud pies, making your own mud cakes complete with (gummy) worms, and a muddy obstacle course! Learn about the role mud played on MDI one hundred years ago and the science behind the sludgy mess today. Explore our early autos that got stuck far too often on those first roads and try your hand at pulling a tire out of mud!

Stonington, ME. The gWatson Gallery is presenting mezzo soprano Kimberly Oppelt in a recital on Friday, June 15 at 7:30 PM. Originally from Rochester, NY, Oppelt graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in vocal performance. She recently performed with Portsmouth Pro Musica, singing the mezzo solos in John Rutter’s, Feel the Spirit. She has performed with Opera Saratoga, Metro West Opera, Granite State Opera, Opera New Hampshire, Lakes Region Opera, and New Hampshire Youth Opera.
