"Maine Street" lecture, slide presentation, and book signing

Photographer Patrisha McLean discusses the making of her best-selling new book, Maine Street: Faces and Stories from a Small Maine Town, which focuses on eighty residents of a small coastal Maine town through stunning photography and compelling stories. Images from the book will be shown and autographed copies will be available. This event is part of Rockland's Wednesday Night Art Walk, and museum admission is free to the public.
Greg Mort Constellation Open Studio

This show features recent artworks by internationally recognized American artist Greg Mort in his historic Port Clyde studio space. Mort’s art is in many prestigious permanent collections around the world, including the Smithsonian, Corcoran, Portland, Farnsworth, and Delaware museums. Currently he has an ongoing exhibition at the Portsmouth Museum of Fine Art titled "Greg Mort: Gifts of the Sea." Mort’s son, Jon Mort, a gifted young artist also showing at the Portsmouth Museum, debuts his large-scale portraits and oils at the open studio event as well.

The Penobscot Marine Museum will welcome renowned artist and musician, Gordon Bok, for a benefit exhibit June 19- July 9, 2009. The public is invited to attend an opening reception June 18, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Mr. Bok’s woodcarvings will be shown in the museum’s Main Street Gallery. The art will be available for purchase, and Mr. Bok will donate a portion of the proceeds for the preservation of the museum’s 83-foot Maine-built sardine carrier Jacob Pike.

Historic Bath ArtWalk and Drive

Bath-Explore Bath’s historic downtown and neighborhood artist studios and galleries during the 3rd Friday ArtWalk, from 5-8 p.m. Beginning on June 19 and held monthly through September 18, twenty sites will be open to show artwork by more than 30 area artists, including new artist studios, Front Street galleries and an exhibit at Bath Train Station & Information Center. Many sites are within walking distance; artists also open their studios and galleries in their historic homes in Bath’s North End and South End.
