In celebration of the publication of Blackveil by bestselling author and Mount Desert Island resident Kristen Britain, the Jesup Memorial Library will be decked out like a medieval great hall for a masquerade ball complete with feasting and music, a reading by the author followed by a question-and-answer session and booksigning, plus door prizes.

The Jordan Planetarium has three star shows for the public this weekend; two for the whole family Friday and Saturday evening at 7PM, and a children's favorite Sunday at 2PM. On Friday night, experience the scientific wonders of Black Holes and the powerful destruction they create within the Universe. Saturday night, travel back in time by just gazing at the stars in Touching the Edge of the Universe. With new satellites launched into Space, watch first hand the birth of stars and planets and possibly even the beginning of time.

Fryeburg Fair
The Fryeburg Fair is billed as “Maine’s Blue Ribbon Classic,” and it’s loaded with entertainment from country music stars like Tyler Dickenson, Nate Gibson, and Vocal Trash to the Whoopie Pie contest to the Christmas Tree exhibit and its wreath-making demonstration.
The Great Fall Auction and Flea Market
The Great Fall Auction and Flea Market is a two-day fund-raising sale that features travel packages, antiques, collectibles, plus gift certificates for dinners, and movies.
Candy Cane Train
The fifth annual Candy Cane Train departs from the Bath Train Station with four, ninety-minute trips scheduled each day. Departure times are 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm. Passengers meet Santa and his elves, listen to storytellers, sing songs, and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies.
