You’ll find plenty of chocolate mousse (the dessert kind) and other treats on the shores of Maine’s largest lake during the Annual Moosehead Lake Chocolate Festival. Once again thirty-five chocolate chefs will prepare delicious chocolate delights — an entry fee entitles you to twelve sweet selections. Ghosts, goblins, witches, wizards, and many more will be wandering the streets of downtown Bangor in celebration of the fisrt annual Downtown Halloween Block Party. The Downtown Bangor Partnership in collaboration with Bangor Arts and a number of downtown businesses is coordinating a day long schedule of activities for all ages in celebration of Halloween. This event is an opportunity to bring people downtown on a fall Saturday and provide several activities for adults and children alike; most events are free of charge.

Penobscot Marine Museum is offering free admission and hosting a number of events for its Fling Into Fall festival. There will be a jack-o'-lantern and scarecrow competition, a craft show and sale, plus learn how to make artistic dioramas with a personal touc. The Penobscot Marine Museum is Maine's oldest maritime museum and home to the state's largest display of historic boats and outstanding collections of marine art and artifacts, ship models, and historic photography.

More than fifty crafters from the Mount Desert Island area will show and sell their finest work at the thirty-sixth annual Island Arts Association Holiday Fair.

Cellardoor Vineyard celebrates the grape with the Chris Humphrey Big Band, a fourteen-piece, professional orchestra, followed by a dinner featuring a diverse menu of Maine specialties prepared by local chefs Lawrence Klang, of Natalie’s, Chris Bassett, of Azure Cafe, and Michael Salmon, of Hartstone Inn. Other highlights include wine and food samplings, music, hayrides through the vineyard, hot air balloon rides, and, of course, lots of grape stomping.
