NEA Jazz Master Barron's unmatched ability to mesmerize audiences with his elegant playing, sensitive melodies, and infectious rhythms has earned him the honor of "one of the top jazz pianists in the world."

The Camden International Film Festival, now in its eighth season, highlights work that shows dedication to craft and a unique and artistic approach to telling a good story. We like films that blur the line between fact and fiction, films that inspire and inform and, most importantly, entertain.

Nestled along 216 miles of pristine coastline, Harpswell is one of Maine’s most treasured jewels. Not surprising is the wealth of artists and crafts people who reside, contribute, and draw inspiration from the vast diversity of Harpswell’s natural beauty.

The Greater Gardiner River Festival includes the Kavanaugh Carnival on the waterfront at 4 pm; Maine vendors selling festival foods; the Bilge Pumps rock band from 7-9 pm; and  fireworks from Central Maine Pyrotechnics after 9 p.m.

This is a fun two-day community and family festival held on the Bethel Village Common on Broad Streetand along Main Street. Events on Saturday include arts and crafts fair, parade through town at 10 am, contests, entertainment, frog-jumping contest, plenty of food, fireworks at dusk, and lots more.

A fun-packed week of events include the a pumpkin paddle boat relay and pumpkin motor boat regatta, the GPC-sanction giant pumpkin weigh-off, pumpkin derby, pumpkin catapulting, pumpkin hurling by a record holder, a giant pumpkin parade, dozens of giant three-hundred-plus pound, decorated pumpkins lining Damariscotta's main street, children's activities, a pumpkin cooking contest, pie eating competition, a giant pumpkin drop, and more.

Celebrating twenty years of flight in 2012, the twentieth annual Great Falls Balloon Festival is the premier summer event of central Maine and is a destination for many visitors to the state. This year, the Flying Purple People Eater, Stinky the Skunk, and Gus T. Guppy, along with dozens of other hot air balloons, will delight crowds from around the country.

Discover eco-friendly ways to connect to a healthy future at EcoDay, a sustainable planet fair being held at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm. EcoDay offers exhibits, activities, and workshops designed to educate, engage, and entertain people of all ages.

As part of Bar Harbor's culinary celebration, Dessert Night features signature desserts from participating restaurants. Diners can vote on their favorite dessert, which will be announced as the Best Dessert. An array of creme brulees at Bar Harbor Inn, whoopie pie sundae and whoopie pie martini at Route 66, and a hazelnut raspberry blackwell tart from McKay's Public House are just some of the tasty treats being prepared. Other participating restaurants include Mache Bistro, Galyn's, Side Street Cafe, and Fiore Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegars.
