Chorizo Con Huevos
Submitted by Down East Guest B... on Wed, 10/31/2012 - 9:26am.A recipe for chorizo con huevos comes to Maine by way of the Mexico-Texas border.
This meal is a great twist on eggs. My good friend is from McAllen Texas, which sits on the Mexico-Texas border. Chorizo and Eggs is a favorite of his, and he cooked it for me one morning and I about fell off my chair. Flavorful and fresh would be the best ways to describe this meal. Chorizo is found in grocery stores near the deli/meat isle. If you are lucky enough to have a Mexican market near by, that would be the place to get this wonderful meat.
Hurricane Sandy Hits Northeast
Submitted by Down East Guest B... on Mon, 10/29/2012 - 1:20pm.Hurricane Sandy is set to hit the United States as a category 1 hurricane later today, but already there is flooding across the Northeast. How exactly it will impact Maine is unclear, but we want to encourage everyone to take every precaution necessary for what may be tropical storm strength winds across the state.
One can find information for how to prepare for such storms at official Web site for FEMA ready.gov and everyone should keep on eye on your local weather forecasts to follow the track of this storm as it moves towards Maine.
